Redefining portfolio management system user experience at scale
€140B assets managed with a unified SaaS
Oddo BHF
Oddo BHF, a Franco-German private bank managing €140B in client assets, faced a critical challenge:
Merging two outdated legacy systems from France and Germany into a single, unified platform.
The result would be a SAAS, the company’s new Portfolio Management System.
From Complexity to Clarity
The project surfaced multiple design challenges: unclear vision, broken workflows, inconsistent navigation, and inefficient collaboration.
For this case study, I focus on 3 major problems I solved, each showing how I turned complexity into simple, reliable design solutions.
Design system
Tokens semantic hierarchy
Volume definition
Spotting differences QA: Webdesign vs. build UAT
Dynamic sitemap
Dynamic sitemap legend
Dynamic sitemap focus
Simplified navigation hierarchy
I conducted workshops, user interviews, analytics reviews, and competitive benchmarking to ground the project in real data. This surfaced key insights: duplicated efforts across streams, the need for speed over polish, and the importance of consistency for adoption. Working in an agile setup, I joined weekly calls with all business streams to align priorities and remove blockers, while also traveling regularly to meet teams in person. I accompanied the project through the development of most major features, scaling a modular design system in Figma, building interactive prototypes, and enforcing rigorous design QA to ensure quality delivery.
–45% design rework thanks to clear QA and alignment rituals
+35% faster delivery of new features across streams
40% component reuse via the modular design system
Major legacy features redesigned
"Merging two financial systems into one scalable SaaS taught me how to transform complexity into clarity. Leading 20+ stakeholders across 4 streams, I learned to drive alignment, deliver pixel-perfect design, and scale impact at €140B."
